Professor Mark Faghy is a Professor in Clinical Exercise Physiology at Loughborough University and leads a research team that has interests spanning Long Covid, acute respiratory infection, recovery, rehabilitation, and the impact of prolonged symptom profiles on quality of life. As well as his determination to improve the understanding of the condition he has also co-led some of the UK’s first treatment trials in Long Covid.

Mark has worked extensively across research, clinical collaboration, and public engagement to improve understanding of Long Covid and support evidence-informed approaches to care and rehabilitation. His expertise strengthens Long Covid Kids’ commitment to advancing paediatric research, advocacy, and awareness.

Mark’s commitment to Long Covid Kids started via his involvement and collaboration with Sammie during the UK COVID-19 inquiry, where they developed a partnership that was centred on increasing awareness of the impacts, learning from the pandemic, and a motivation to find solutions for those who are still impacted.
